Self-care is essential

Posted by Lynn Power on

We've all heard the saying by now "self-care isn't selfish" and at Isle de Nature, we 100% believe that. Self-care is about your holistic wellness, and you can't take care of others if you aren't at your best.

Here are some self-care tips we've picked up over the last year.

1) Detox your beauty routine.

We bet that many of the products in your bathroom cabinet are expired or hardly used. Others likely have toxic ingredients that are lurking (sulfates, parabens, phthalates). Take an hour and clean it up so you can feel good about the products you're putting in an on your body.

2) A massage can do wonders.

We love a good massage. And not only does it feel great, but there are proven health benefits.

3) Don't forget a good scent.

Of course, we're partial to ours. A scent can do wonders to lift your mood and transport you. Put one in your home office while you're zooming. If you light a candle, just make sure it's not paraffin (toxic), that defeats the purpose!

4) Get outside.

Nature can be invigorating. Try to get out for a walk or a swim. Just spending some "down time" in nature can destress and relax you.

5) Read a book.

When is the last time you curled up with a great novel? We are so busy that it feels like an indulgence, but it's a great way to take your mind off of the day-to-day and escape for a while.

6) Indulge in some high quality tea or raw honey.

Don't skimp on a few foodie items that will really make you feel great. Whether you're a tea or coffee person, it's worth getting quality that you'll appreciate.

7) Express yourself.

Buy yourself a piece of jewelry you love (and deserve). We like Access 79, sustainable fine jewelry that will be shipped right to your house.

8) Make time for your pets.

They've gotten used to being around us this past year, but make sure to give the love back. It can be beneficial to your body and soul.

Please let us know what self-care tips have helped you.
